Another West Cumbrian development in the pipeline

Posted on: April 7, 2025

We’re delighted to say we’ve submitted a planning application for a new residential development of 95 high-quality, energy-efficient homes in another West Cumbrian location. Just weeks after construction started at Derwent Rise development in Seaton, we’re set to build a further 95 new homes in Cleator Moor.

The proposed development, named Ennerdale View, will be perfectly located with easy access to Cleator Moor’s town centre, a range of amenities, schools, and transport links. The 95-home development will feature a range of spacious two, three, four and five-bedroom properties, designed to suit the needs of growing families, first-time buyers, and downsizers alike.

We have carefully designed Ennerdale View with green open spaces, paths and tree planting, enhancing the local environment and providing safe outdoor spaces for the community.

John Blue, Land and Sales Director at Genesis Homes, said: “We are excited to bring forward our plans for this exciting new development in Cleator Moor. We understand the demand for high-quality housing in the area and are committed to providing homes that are not only modern and energy-efficient but also make a positive contribution to the local community. Our development will provide a mix of open market and affordable homes, helping to address housing needs while complementing the character of the town.”

The development will not only contribute to the area’s housing supply with distinctively designed homes made for modern living, but Genesis Homes are committed to using local contractors and suppliers wherever possible, ultimately providing local job opportunities.

The planning application will now be reviewed by the local planning authority with the aim of commencing work in early 2026.  These new homes in Cleator Moor will add to the seven new developments that we’re building across Cumbria in 2025 and 2026.
