Housing development to cater for surge in demand for rural properties
WITH more people than ever looking to relocate to rural locations, we have brought a new development to the market boasting enviable views of the Pennines.
National research from estate agents, planners and architects reveals that enquiries about homes in villages and the countryside more than doubled during lockdown, with city dwellers reportedly looking to switch to a more peaceful country life.
Genesis Homes has launched the 25-home Lonsdale Park development in the village of Hackthorpe, ahead of the launch in the coming weeks of 81 homes at Farries Field, Stainburn, near Workington.
The new Lonsdale Park development comprises a stylish collection of two to five-bedroom homes and bungalows, and is situated in a prime location to give stunning views of the Pennines and the surrounding villages of Lowther and Askham.
Genesis Homes’ Managing Director Nicky Gordon said: “Lonsdale Park is a delightful, yet small, development of only 25 properties which is situated in an enviable location. Genesis Homes looks for prime addresses, in recognition of the setting being just as important as the property when it comes to finding a place to call home.
“The site is in a wonderful location with easy access to the M6 and the Lake District National Park, while also a short journey into the market town of Penrith. To make things easier, there’s a bus stop close to the development.
“Homebuyers also have the benefits of living in such a beautiful village which has great facilities all within walking distance, such as a play area, a community hall, and a primary school.
“The development is also within walking distance of the outstanding Lowther Castle and Gardens tourist attraction and Askham village which boasts a brilliant village shop and outdoor pool, and a Michelin star restaurant at Askham Hall.”
Following on from development launches at Lonsdale Park and Farries Field, further developments at Penrith, Etterby, Lazonby, and Calthwaite are planned by Genesis Homes in the coming months.
Earlier this year, Genesis Homes acquired the long-established Russell Armer Homes, based in south Cumbria, in a deal that brought together two of the leading housing developers across the North West.
