10 Simple ways to add happiness to your day!

January is a time for resolutions and new beginnings, so to make sure you kickstart the year with a smile here are 10 simple ways to add happiness to your day:

 

  1. Order yourself (or a friend – or both) a small gift, whether it be flowers or some brownies delivered to your door, this will give you – and a friend – something to look forward to.

 

  1. Have a pamper evening, light a candle, grab your book and treat yourself to an indulgent bath using those bath bombs/Christmas toiletries.

 

  1. Start a new book – fact or fiction, whatever works for you.

 

  1. Don your trainers and go for a walk. It doesn’t need to be miles, but just for 30 mins or so, to inhale some fresh wintery air and get those endorphins going. If it’s raining outside, why not take part in a home workout?

 

  1. Donate some money to charity – it needn’t be a lot but you’ll be helping others and that always makes you feel good.

 

  1. Make a brew and phone someone you haven’t spoken to in a while to catch up/check they’re ok.

 

  1. Organise a date night (if you live with your ‘special someone’) – it doesn’t have to be valentine’s day to enjoy some togetherness!

 

  1. Do a spot of spring cleaning – de-cluttering is proven to help clear the mind, so start with organising the ‘bits n bobs’ draw you’ve been putting off for ages, you’ll find this very satisfying!

 

  1. Bake, or cook a tasty treat – pop on some music and blast out some tunes while making something decadent to eat.

 

  1. Smile – it’s catching and will make you feel 100 times better!
