Over the past few weeks, we’ve been delighted to bring residents together at our very first Neighbourhood Events at Derwent Rise in Seaton and Sandsfield Way in Carlisle.
As part of our Customer First approach, we’re introducing a programme of events across our developments, giving residents the opportunity to get to know one another, enjoy some time together and start building a real sense of community around their new homes.
Ice cream and new neighbours at Derwent Rise
Our first ever Neighbourhood Event took place at Derwent Rise in Seaton, where customers were invited to join us for an ice cream and a chat. Super simple but a lovely, informal way to meet other residents.
There were 10 homes already moved in, with around 20 residents joining us – a fantastic turnout for our first event!
It was lovely to see residents chatting, getting to know their new neighbours and enjoying their afternoon together. We also received some really positive feedback about both the development and the event, making it a great start to our Neighbourhood Events programme.
Coffee, cake and community at Sandsfield Way 
A couple of weeks later, we headed to Sandsfield Way in Carlisle for a coffee morning, bringing residents together over plenty of coffee, cake and conversation.
The weather was a little wetter and windier than we’d hoped, but that certainly didn’t stop residents from coming out in force. It was fantastic to see people making the most of the morning, meeting their neighbours and enjoying the chance to catch up over a coffee.
Creating communities, not just homes
For us, it’s about more than building a development of homes. It’s about the people, connections and shared experiences that help turn a new development into a place people are proud to call home.
Our Neighbourhood Events are a small but important part of that. By creating opportunities for residents to come together from the very beginning, we hope to help develop a strong community spirit that continues long after the last home is built.
These first two events are just the beginning, with plenty more planned across our developments in the months ahead. From seasonal get-togethers to informal community events, we’re looking forward to creating more opportunities for our customers to meet, connect and enjoy where they live.
