We were recently asked to come to the aid of the Seaton community and we are proud to say we were able to respond quickly and make a real difference.
Following the recent severe weather, the access road to the church was left badly damaged, making it difficult and unsafe for parishioners and visitors to reach the church and cemetery. When Reverend Ian Grainger issued an urgent plea for help, we stepped in straight away and organised essential road repairs for the very next day.
Working in partnership with Grant Ltd, our local groundwork subcontractor, we carried out the repairs as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting the communities surrounding our developments, including our nearby Derwent Rise development in Seaton which is delivering 99 high-quality homes ranging from two to five bedrooms.
Thanks to the rapid response of both our team and Grant Ltd, the work was completed within 48 hours of the initial request. This meant that the church could remain open and the community was able to safely come together for Remembrance Sunday and will continue to do so over the Christmas period.

Reverend Grainger shared his gratitude:
“On behalf of the church I cannot thank Genesis Homes and Grant Ltd enough for this wonderful gesture and for their outstanding support, without which we would be facing a very different picture. Not only have they undertaken work to substantially improve the affected access, but they have also carried out considerable work on the badly pot holed road across to the church.”
For us, this is exactly what community spirit is about. Stepping up when people need it most. We are committed to making a positive difference wherever we build, and this is just one example of how we want to have a lasting impact in local areas.
Our Managing Director, Nicky Gordon who also leads Grant Ltd, added:
“This project highlights the strong sense of teamwork and local pride shared by Genesis Homes and Grant Ltd. It is a clear example of how local businesses and residents can come together in times of need to make a real difference. The church is such an important place for local people, especially at this time of year, and we are delighted we could play a part in keeping it open and accessible for everyone.”
