Join us for a Q&A with our customer Sally, who moved to our popular Meadow Rigg development in Kendal and chose our beautiful 3-bedroom detached home, The Sedgwick, in November 2025. Now Sally, Pedro and their furry friend Teddy are starting to get settled in, we got in touch to find out how they’re enjoying life in their new home.
What made you choose our Meadow Rigg development?
‘We haven’t always lived in Kendal, Pedro is actually Brazilian, so he moved over from Brazil a couple of years ago. I’ve lived in various places in the UK but ended up in Kendal and we both just really loved it here, so that’s why we kind of decided to commit and buy a house in Kendal.’
‘We also love walking, and we’ve got a dog called Teddy, who loves being outside – so Kendal is perfect for us’
Why did you choose The Sedgwick?
‘We were really taken in by the big rooms, particularly the living space in the kitchen with glass window doors at either end, which we really liked. The big master bedroom with the dressing area is handy, as well as the en-suite bathroom.’
Which room do you spend the most time in?
‘It would probably be the kitchen, we have lovely, upgraded marble worktop (Silestone – Desert Silver), which is nice. We really love that, and it makes the kitchen space feel luxurious. We also included flooring, so the house was ready for us to move into straight away.’
Did you consider a second-hand property? And if so, what made you choose a new build instead?
‘Yes, we did. I guess we went for the new build because it’s nice to move into somewhere that’s completely brand new and doesn’t need any substantial work doing on it. Also, the incentives you offered us in terms of paying for stamp duty, just made it so much more financially viable.’
What do you like most about living in a new build so far?
‘I think it’s the space. We just really love the how the house is laid out and the amount of space it has in the garden, we will make more use of it in the summer. We do really like that, and so does Teddy!’
‘The house so far also feels a lot more energy efficient compared to our previous property.’
Its early days, but do you feel like you have saved on the running costs of the house?
‘I think we definitely will, just because of how warm it is and how energy efficient it feels, it’s going to be less on bills.’
‘I also think in terms of saving money on time, because everything’s organised and storage is really well managed. So instead of stuff being everywhere, it’s still everywhere at the minute, but it feels like we’ll just be able to put stuff away and keep it quite neat and tidy.’
Did you consider other housebuilders and if yes, why did you choose us?
‘We did look at two other house builders within Kendal, but we just really like the location of Meadow Rigg, because it’s so quiet, surrounded by the hills, which is lovely, and also we just thought that your houses were built really well and good value for money.’
Would you recommend us?
‘Yes, I absolutely would. I’ve said it to everyone, you guys have been so amazingly helpful, both in terms of helping us make sure it worked out in terms of money and everything, but also just really looking after us as we moved in.’
‘You guys would even come and check in to see how we are doing. It’s great. Kate was the Sales Executive and she’s fab as well.’
