Enjoyable, and long overdue, day out to appreciate our fantastic staff

THE past year has been one of real change at Genesis Homes and it’s been a real whirlwind for all involved in what has been such an exciting period.

As the company continues to grow and more developments are planned, Genesis HQ is a hive of energy and activity with high anticipation about what is coming round the corner.

As a company, we took time out of our busy working week to all congregate and reflect on what has been a hugely successful and hugely enjoyable past 12 months with a trip to the fantastic Annie Mawson’s Sunbeams Music Trust.

With flexible, hybrid working patterns now implemented and allowing a mixture of office work and working from home, it was great to be able to get the full team out of the office environment to enjoy a social gathering for the first time in more than two years.

And of course our team has grown considerably since the last time we were able to all get in the same room following our acquisition of Russell Armer Homes last April.

The staff members from Russell Armer have settled in so well with their new colleagues at Genesis and this was a further opportunity for them to embed themselves in and have a coffee and a natter with their new workmates.

We are firm believers that giving staff the freedom to contribute and feel that their opinion is valued is of paramount importance to the success of the business, and that has translated into staggering results for Genesis Homes throughout 2021/22.

The company has enjoyed enviable growth with revenue growing from £13.2m in 2020/21 to £37m at the end of 2021/22 – quite unbelievable given the many challenges the housing industry has faced as a whole.

Included among the obstacles faced have been ongoing supply chain issues, labour shortages and the inflated cost of materials amidst the effects of a global pandemic, but we’re so proud that our excellent team has risen to all challenges and progressed the company to the high level we continuously perform at.

We completed on 96 new homes last year and we’re well on track to achieve, or even exceed, our current build target for 2022/23 of 176 units, so it’s definitely going to be another exciting year of development.

And it’s thanks to the excellent staff we have doing their utmost day in and day out at Genesis HQ so we sincerely hope they enjoyed their away to the Sunbeams and know how valued they are for their excellent work they carry out for the benefit of the company.

A million thank yous!
