Genesis Homes appoint third Director

Posted on: March 9, 2020

Jeff Niland has joined Genesis Homes as Commercial Director. Jeff joins our Penrith-based team from Blewbury Homes, part of GoDevelop, where he has been Projects Manager for three years; a role that has seen him working all over the UK, delivering in excess of 500 units.

Previously Jeff has worked for the likes of Watkin Jones, Westby Homes and Peak builders, gaining valuable experience in project management, operations, construction and commercial environments. He joins Genesis Homes with over 25 years in the construction industry. The born and bred Mancunian started his working career as an apprentice joiner, steadily gaining qualifications in building studies and project management.

Nicky Gordon, MD Genesis Homes commented: “Jeff’s track record, industry knowledge and specific experience with venture capital development projects throughout the UK, brings a breadth of both construction acumen, alongside cost and commercial control required in a development company. These skills will strengthen and support Genesis Homes’ existing team, and we are delighted to have him on board. Attracting someone of his calibre into the business is a great endorsement of what we have achieved in a relatively short period of time. Jeff’s experience will bring a lot to our business as we continue to strive to achieve ambitious growth plans.”

Commenting on his move, Jeff said: “Genesis Homes is building a good reputation as a quality, high specification house builder. Through various discussions with Nicky I know that they have a great opportunity to grow further, focusing on strong business values and build capability. Given the recently reported improvements in the housing market, Genesis Homes is in an excellent position to realise significant growth opportunities. The company has been successful in building a trusted brand, and their values and delivery processes are to be admired. I am delighted to be a part their team.”

Jeff is married with twin, teenage boys and moved from Manchester to Kirkby Lonsdale eight years ago, having put his skills to great use by fully renovating a ‘challenging’ barn conversion. He is a keen supporter of both football and rugby.
