Genesis Homes is celebrating after Employee Operations Manager, Lesley Bird, was named the winner of the ‘By Your Side’ Award at the national Premier Guarantee Excellence Awards.
Lesley was recognised at the awards ceremony, held at Nobu Hotel in London, alongside fellow finalists from across the UK housebuilding industry, including representatives from Persimmon Homes, Cartwright Homes and Crest Nicholson.
The ‘By Your Side’ Award recognises an individual who consistently goes above and beyond to support the people around them, with the award described at the ceremony as the most impressive of the evening.
Joining Genesis Homes in 2018, Lesley plays a key role in supporting employees across the business, alongside her wider responsibilities as Employee Operations Manager. Known for her approachable nature and willingness to help, she is often the person colleagues turn to for support, encouragement and advice.
Lesley Bird said: “I’m absolutely delighted and genuinely humbled to have received the ‘By Your Side’ Award. To be recognised alongside so many fantastic people from across the housebuilding industry is a real honour.
“I love being part of Genesis Homes and supporting the people around me, so to have that recognised in this way means a great deal. It was a fantastic day and a very proud moment for me and for everyone at Genesis.”
The Premier Guarantee Awards celebrate achievement and excellence across the UK housebuilding and construction industry, making Lesley’s success a significant national recognition for both her and Genesis Homes.
Nicky Gordon, Managing Director at Genesis Homes, said: “Lesley is such an important part of Genesis Homes and this award is incredibly well deserved. She brings positivity, kindness and a genuine sense of care to everything she does, and that has a huge impact on the people around her.
“We’re incredibly proud to see Lesley recognised on a national stage and it’s fantastic to have her contribution celebrated alongside some of the biggest names in our industry.”
The award adds to a growing list of achievements for Genesis Homes and reflects the people-focused and community culture at the heart of the Cumbrian housebuilder.
