Inaugural charity golf day a tee-rific success

Posted on: September 2, 2022

A BIG thank you goes to all those that turned out to make our charity golf day in aid of Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) such a resounding success.

Penrith Golf Club kindly hosted our inaugural event which attracted a large and competitive field of golfers.

While there were plenty of prizes up for grabs, including the coveted team competition, charity was the real winner on the day with more than £1,600 raised for GNAAS by our fantastic guests.

A huge well done to the winning team on the day from Workington’s Paton Bros Scaffolding who played some excellent golf on such a nice day to take away the main prize. They were pushed all the way by rival teams, with Eddisons in second place and Magnet Ltd in third.

There were also individual competitions on the day with nearest the pin contests on the fourth, 10th and 14th holes, with our very own Keith Wilson, Eddisons’ Curtis Bowles and Brick Services Ltd’s Robert Armstrong taking first place in the respective competitions.

In the nearest the rope contest on the 18th hole, Bryan Glendenning claimed the prize.

We are grateful to the following companies for sponsoring the prizes: Magnet Ltd, Armstrong Watson, KL Venning Slaters Ltd, Housing Growth Partnership, Travis Perkins and Paragon Banking Group PLC. Your generosity is hugely appreciated.

The golf day was such a success that we plan to make it an inaugural event, so get practising your swing ahead of the 2023 Genesis Homes Charity Golf Day!
