Return of our charity golf day after successful debut

Posted on: April 19, 2023

FOLLOWING the success of our inaugural charity golf day, excitement is building ahead of its return this summer.

Last year, teams from across Cumbria descended on Penrith Golf Club to take part in the debut event, and it was a runaway success with funds added to the overall total donated to Great North Air Ambulance Service, our nominated charity for 2022.

On June 9th, we are gearing up to welcome golfers back to Penrith for our 2023 event which will help boost our fundraising for the year to go towards the magnificent Annie Mawson’s Sunbeams Music Trust.

The charity is a very worthy cause which supports disabled children and adults to improve their health and wellbeing through the creative freedom of music, and our goal is to raise as much money as we possibly can throughout the year to really help a charity which provides so much joy to its users.

The format of the competition is a ‘two out of four’ stableford with the cost of entry £250 for a team of four, or £65 per person if entering individually. As well as an exciting round of 18 holes, entry gets you breakfast sandwiches, coffee and a barbecue.

As well as team prizes, there are individual competitions for nearest the pin (x2), nearest the rope and for the longest drive during the day.

Please note that a maximum handicap of 24 for men and 36 for ladies applies.

Can anybody take the crown from reigning champions Paton Bros Scaffolding from Workington?

To book a place, email [email protected] or [email protected].

Please also drop us a line if you are unable to attend but still would like to donate or sponsor a prize.

The charity golf day is one of the many fundraising events planned this year to raise money for Sunbeams.

Office and site staff are donning their walking boots to undertake a 20-mile sponsored walk around Derwentwater and Grange Fell on April 22nd.

This year, we are also introducing a Barmy Army Charity Cricket Tournament at Penrith Cricket Club on July 21st.

And keep your eyes open for an announcement about our grand finale charity ball which will again be held in November.
