Moving house can be a stressful time for many – and especially so when you’re nine months into your first pregnancy!
This was the experience for Rosie Graves who was one of our first ever customers when she and partner Liam moved into a three-bedroomed Gelt home with garage at our first development at St Cuthbert’s in Wigton.
Three weeks later, Rosie gave birth to the ‘first Genesis Homes baby’ as the couple welcomed daughter Nellie to the world – and into their dream home.
A wedding at Lodore Falls and the arrival of son Bobby have since followed, and the Graves family are loving life in their Genesis home.
Rosie said: “I was heavily pregnant with Nellie when we moved in so it was all systems go, which wasn’t helped by having really bad snow at the time so access to the house wasn’t always easy.
“But the experience we had from Genesis Homes was great and they were hands-on to make sure everything was right for us, and we received such great customer service from the whole team.
“Our family is now complete with Nellie, Bobby and our dog Freddie, and we have all we need here from our family home.
“St Cuthbert’s is ideally located for Liam to get to work at Innovia and it’s walking distance for the children to get to school at St Cuthbert’s, with Nelson Thomlinson School nearby too. It’s perfect for us.”
After viewing the Gelt at St Cuthbert’s, Liam – born and bred in Wigton – and Rosie, originally of nearby Curthwaite, knew they had found the ideal home to raise their family.
Rosie said: “We were looking at other new builds elsewhere but what really stood out to us was how nice the houses looked; the brick work and grey windows instantly caught the eye, and the homes weren’t squeezed too close together like you see on other sites.
“Our garden is a great size to let the kids play freely, and the copious space throughout the house was another major selling point. Our living room is massive and there’s no dead space as storage is included at every opportunity, for example under the stairs.
“The kids have every toy you can imagine and they have plenty of space to play so they are always kept happy.”
A lovely community has been created at St Cuthbert’s, Wigton, with many more families having moved onto the development.
