What is a dormer bungalow?

A dormer bungalow is a single-storey house with additional living space within the roof, often used as extra bedrooms and bathrooms. A dormer on a bungalow is the name of the boxed windows, or dormer windows, that protrude out from the sloping roof. These create more headroom and increase usable space under the sloping eaves.

Are bungalows colder than houses?

Older bungalows can be, but newer bungalows are much more efficient. 

A detached bungalow has more external walls than a semi-detached house therefore it has the potential to lose more heat through the exterior walls. So, a bungalow could be colder than a house, but it depends on the individual property.

Older bungalows are more ineffective at retaining heat with poor insulation, often no wall cavities and inefficient windows. Are bungalows more expensive than houses?
