Big benefits from small housing development

A small housing development is set to provide huge benefits to its residents in the heart of the stunning Eden Valley.

Genesis Homes has started work on the construction of 16 new homes at its new Pennine View site in the village of Calthwaite, between Penrith and Carlisle. The properties are expected to go on sale in November.

The scheme, which will feature three to five bedroom homes and three bedroom bungalows, and follows on from the launch of a similarly small scheme of 25 properties at Lonsdale Park, Hackthorpe, near Penrith.

The housing firm is proud to provide low-density developments, as in previous schemes in Armathwaite, Cumwhinton and Brigham, which allow home buyers to enjoy stunning views of the picturesque scenery of the Eden Valley, as well as enjoying more home and garden space.

In addition, the development is ideally located close to the M6 to allow easy transport access for commuters.

Genesis Homes’ Managing Director, Nicky Gordon, said: “The beauty of creating low-density schemes such as this is the huge added value that buyers enjoy, such as larger gardens, stunning views and more privacy, that volume house builders may not be able to offer.

“Our customers are always at the forefront of our plans, and in Pennine View we are creating a stunning small development which will allow our buyers to enjoy some of the best views in the country.

“During the pandemic, people have reconsidered their lifestyles with an increased focus on well-being and enjoying more outdoor space, as well as enjoying more time spent in the home, and this development ticks all the boxes.

“With Calthwaite in the heart of the beautiful Eden Valley, the homes will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery and plenty of green space to explore, and the health benefits of natural light and green space is something we consider very seriously when designing our homes and developments.”

The Calthwaite development will build on the growing success of Genesis Homes, following the recent launch of sites at Rheda North Park, in Whitehaven, and Lonsdale Park, Hackthorpe, which are both experiencing a high level of sales interest.

Interest in the new scheme is expected to be just as high, with excellent transport links just one of the many benefits.

Lisa Telford, Head of Sales at Genesis Homes, said: “The site is equidistant to Penrith and Carlisle, and is just minutes away from the M6 motorway, so has great links to surrounding areas.

“In addition, this development will create local employment opportunities and provide easy access to local services and good performing schools.

“What these developments do is create small communities within themselves, with the added bonus of enjoying all the benefits of village life, and in such a stunning location.

“As we have experienced at all our other sites, we expect demand in this development to be very high so our advice is to register interest as soon as possible.”

Pennine View will be the ninth scheme carried out in Cumbria by Genesis Homes since it was established by Nicky Gordon and two business partners in 2017. New developments in Penrith, Etterby, Lazonby and Stainburn are also in the pipeline in the coming months.
